Yup, then again this is Japan we are talking about.
They mostly use mobile devices nowadays, and people prefer to play for short amounts of time than sitting all day playing JRPGs!
And there are huge crowds in the bigger cities, so certain functions like Streetpass work like a charm there.
I will be lucky if I get one streetpass here in Portugal when I go somewhere, and it usually never happens! XD
I guess that explains in part why the 3DS is so strong over there, while the Wii U lingers behind… although Splatoon helped change that a little bit. o.O’
Overall, I also feel like the Japanese understand better the concept that “graphics aren’t everything”, but then again I digress…

I think most recent Nintendo Consoles/Handhelds serve more purpose and are better utilised in Japan than any other region.

I’m aware of the vicious cycle, and that’s exactly why I think they came up with the cover plates novelty, it’s just another way to attract people who wouldn’t buy the console to it, because it’s “customizable”, and there are people out there who can’t hear that word without reacting! XD
I also feel like the New 3DS is more exploited in the internal Japanese market, or at least that’s the impression I have gotten over time…

I use my 3DS a lot less than I’d like to already… besides the only people that would’ve bought the system so far are: Dedicated Xenoblade fans; Hardcore Nintendo Collectors and… some clueless parents that are unsure of the difference.

That’s the problem though; if people don’t buy it, developers don’t work on it; if developers don’t work on it; people don’t buy it… you know. it creates a loop of losses for the hardware company.
or in the case of the Wii U:
If there is horrible 3rd party software that doesn’t sell well; legit 3rd party developers are scared away… because the ‘market isn’t there,’ etc. Which creates nothing beneficial.

Exactly my thoughts, I’m not buying a New 3DS for an eShop game that very few will play and when I won’t be using the New 3DS for much else…

Seems like an interesting game; not sure if it’s enough for me to want to buy a new 3DS though…

Just type Lifespeed in the search bar of the site…
They couldn’t make it work in the regular 3DS because it didn’t have enough processing power, therefore it was only possible to realease on the New 3DS.
The features are there, and are noticeable if you have both consoles, which I don’t but have seen footage.
I was expecting a few extra exclusives too, but I guess they were a little afraid of fan backlash or things like that…

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D was released… ‘but couldn’t’?

The only reason that I’ve forgotten about the extra hardware power, load times, etc… is because Nintendo stopped advertising it, they don’t seem to be utilising it and it seems like they were just using it to boost 3DS sales until NX releases.

I’m saying that because I would’ve expected more exclusive software…

Wee Man Studios are the developers, a small indie studio!
The New 3DS actually has “some” utility… 1st they wanted to release Xenoblade but couldn’t, then there’s Monster Hunter and Smash, that take advantage of the exclusive features, and there’s also the improved download and loading times. It’s not groundbreaking, but still rather useful.
And it opens new possibilities for those interested, like the Lifespeed developers! o.O’

The whole under-utilised new Nintendo 3DS… is pointless. Nintendo themselves aren’t even supporting it, yet they pretty much only just released it… I don’t understand why they bothered :3

But looks closer to another game I can’t remember the name, than to F-Zero! o.O’
The 3DS is also getting Lifespeed, but it’s only for the “NEW” 3DS… ~_~’

Oh yes! I almost forgot about that game!

I can’t wait for it to come out, it’s the futuristic racing game the Wii U needs and deserves! :3 XD

And I agree, I would like to see more racing games on Nintendo consoles, the Wii had a good amount and I even tried my hand at a few of them! Fun times! ^_^’
Right now, I only care about FAST Racing Neo, to be honest! <.<'

Well, in comparison to the first party games there are; I’m sure people are going to buy Pikmin before they buy Devil’s Third or even the possible Project CARS.

and, I don’t usually pass judgement on a game until I’ve seen a fair amount of gameplay, but you can tell a game’s going to be either good for laughs, downright horrible or enjoyable and great after you’ve see those first reviews.

but on the topic of Project CARS; I’d love to be able to try one of those HD-Racing Simulation games on the Wii U; if done right, I’m sure there could’ve been some great implementation of the Gamepad. (well, alot of games could’ve had great implementation… but it’s just not there)

Yeah, it’s one of those games that is so bad it’s good!
And to be honest, it’s not thaaaaaaaaat bad… just a little… XD
