Hex Heroes

hex-heroesHex Heroes is still slated to be released on the Wii U, but the developers have now commented on the Nintendo Switch and the possibility of Hex Heroes being ported to the console.

The game was initially expected to be released in 2015 after its successful 2014 Kickstarter campaign, but Hex Heroes is still under development.

The game utilizes the gamepad and 5-player potential of the Wii U heavily, and as such porting it to other systems would be a tricky scenario.

It seems that the developers of the game are hopeful at the prospects of a Switch port though, since the controls could work in alternative ways, but the network programming of the game could seriously complicate matters depending on how difficult it’s to achieve.

We also recently learned from Image & Form community manager Julius Guldbog in a Reddit AMA that SteamWorld Heist almost had multiplayer.

He said that the functionality was seriously considered, but the lack of time was the only reason why it wasn’t included in the end.

Guldbog stated:

“We would love multiplayer and seriously considered it for Heist. In the end we ran out of time, simply.”

As a side note regarding the SteamWorld Heist hat packs that are still planned for 3DS,  Image & Form has said they “ran into a nasty bug that will take some time to fix since DLC on 3DS didn’t work the way we thought”, but the team will “definitely compensate 3DS owners for the long wait”.
