Level Up Labs announced that the OpenFL framework is in the works for consoles, including Wii U and 3DS, during a presentation at WWX2015 in France.
Programs supported by OpenFL are created using the Haxe language and it can be used to create different types of applications or Flash movies. It’s already widely supported on platforms like PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
OpenFL demos are already compiling and running on Wii U, apparently. However, the team is currently awaiting its dev kit for the 3DS, so it will be supported in the future as well.
