Level-5 has recently shared new details, screenshots, and a commercial, about Yo-kai Watch 3. The information covers a new mode, Zombie Night, and other details.

My Nyan mode

Yo-kai Watch 3 will have a new mode, My Nyan, where players will be able to create their own Jibanyan. Its appearance, color, voice and race can be freely edited. This special Jibanyan can be used in battles, and its stats and skills can be strengthened over time.

One of the screenshots shows the parts of its appearance that can be edited: head, head pattern, eyes, head accessory, body, tail, and necklace. Additionally, you can select skills and special moves.

“Escape from the mysterious phenomenon Zombie Night”

Zombie Night is a night where the yo-kai aura balance becomes disrupted, and zombies appear in the city. To escape it, the player needs to ring the Daybreak Bell without getting defeated by zombies. It is also possible to beat zombies by using the professor’s special hammer.

New character introduction: two FBY investigators Maruda and Kakuri who have a book named the Y File. This obviously references the television series The X-Files.

Those who connect the Sushi and Tempura versions of Yo-kai Watch 3 will be provided with bonuses. Bonuses are also planned for those who connect with the toys.

Yooka-Laylee

Playtonic has released the very first trailer for Yooka-Laylee, which you can watch below. The video confirms a new launch timing of Q1 2017, instead of this October as originally planned.

Playtonic has shared the following message regarding the delay:

While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule.

Ultimately, this will allow us to deliver a better game to the tens-of-thousands of you who’ve supported us throughout development. And that’s what we all want, right?

We’re sure some will be disappointed by the prospect of a few extra months’ wait, however the team is confident that we’ve made the right decision for the game and that you’ll be pleased with the results when Yooka-Laylee arrives early next year.

Playtonic and Team17 have  also released several new screenshots and art from Yooka-Laylee, which you can find in the gallery below:

And Eurogamer shared some new footage of the game:

Furthermore, MCV asked Playtonic about why the studio is working on the Wii U version internally over other platforms. In response, writer Andy Robinson said:

We naturally have so many backers who opted for Wii U. Because of the size of the team, we couldn’t take on all the consoles. You can imagine from a developer stand-point, that porting from PC to PS4 and Xbox One is slightly more straightforward than porting to Wii U. I also think it feels right playing it on a Nintendo system to some people. But the other versions will be fantastic as well.

Technical art director Mark Stevenson also stated:

“We wanted to make sure that Wii U gets the right attention. There is a lot of nostalgia around Banjo, Banjo heralds from Rare’s Nintendo’s days, and we are all massive Nintendo fans as well.”

LEGO Dimensions

Warner Bros. Interactive has now announced that LEGO Dimensions is getting more content from a bunch of other properties.

Franchises like Sonic The Hedgehog, Harry Potter, Adventure Time, Mission Impossible, E.T., The Goonies, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Ghostbusters (reboot) are on the way.

LEGO Dimensions players can get the new packs based on 16 new entertainment properties starting on September 27 with the Ghostbusters Story Pack, Adventure Time and Mission Impossible Level Packs, Harry Potter and Adventure Time Team Packs, and The A-Team Fun Pack. Additionally, packs for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Goonies, Sonic The Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go!, LEGO City Undercover, Knight Rider, The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial will be released in waves going into summer of next year.

“All expansion packs provide players with continued compatibility to use everything from waves 1-9 interchangeably, anywhere throughout the game”. Consumers will not need to purchase a new starter pack.

Also coming are new Battle Arenas, which “will offer first-to-LEGO videogames competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players”.

Here’s a rundown of the details:

LEGO minifigures included in the wave 6 through 9 expansion packs will come with special, golden Toy Tags which unlock a Battle Arena within the Free Play Adventure World of the corresponding entertainment brand. Each Battle Arena has four different gameplay modes and comes with its own traps, special powers and interactive environments that make every battle arena unique.

The following information about the Ghostbusters Story Pack was also shared:

The Ghostbusters Story Pack, based on the upcoming film, will provide a complete movie-based gameplay experience with six puzzle-packed levels and new LEGO Gateway bricks that allow players to build Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant atop the LEGO Toy Pad. It will also come with a buildable Abby Yates LEGO minifigure with Proton Blaster and 3-in-1 buildable Ecto-1 which can be rebuilt into the Ectozer and The PerfEcto. The pack unlocks “Rip,” a new Toy Pad mode allowing players to tear open an alternate universe. In this mirror world, players have the ability to solve puzzles and affect objects and other items in the primary universe. And like all gold-tag minifigures purchased, Abby Yates provides access to a new themed Adventure World with its own unique Battle Arena. The Ghostbusters Story Pack is just the first of this new exciting pack type, with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on the highly anticipated theatrical release, still to come later this year. The LEGO DIMENSIONS packs will be the exclusive construction toy offering this holiday for the exciting expansion of J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Story Packs also expand the Starter Pack story with deeper gameplay. In the game’s storyline, the evil Lord Vortech has hidden portions of his powers around the LEGO Multiverse. As players progress through Story Pack levels, they can unearth and tap into Keystone Runes to use Lord Vortech’s powers against him through all-new Toy Pad modes.

Activision @ E3 2016, Skylanders Imaginators

Activision has announced its E3 2016 lineup. Aside from the non-Nintendo titles Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Destiny, the company will also be highlighting Skylanders Imaginators.

For those who need a reminder, here’s what you can expect from Skylanders Imaginators:

This fall, Activision and Toys For Bob are giving kids the power to create their own Skylanders! With the launch of Skylanders Imaginators, players will be able to create the wildest Skylanders imaginable — including their appearance, powers, abilities, names, catchphrases, musical themes and much more. Now it’s up to Portal Masters everywhere to use their own Skylanders — known as Imaginators — with the new Creation Crystals to defeat Kaos.

Skylanders Imaginators also introduces Skylanders Senseis, all-new heroes who represent 10 powerful Battle Classes such as Knight, Sorcerer, Bowslinger and Brawler to help kids save Skylands. The newest game in the award-wining franchise is available now for pre-order and supports all 300+ Skylanders from previous games. Skylanders Imaginators will be available on October 16 in North America; October 14 in Europe; and October 13 in Australia/New Zealand.

Speaking of Skylanders Imaginators, a new character named Ember has been introduced. Here’s an overview and video dedicated to it:

Ember was raised inside the Dragonfire Dojo, having come from a long line of Fire Sentinels that were skilled in the art of Dual-Blades. It was the dream of her father that Ember would follow their tradition and take over the family training facility, and so she practiced every day. She was naturally gifted, and soon even the greatest Dual-Blade Masters were no match for Ember. When Kaos heard of this, he took over her village and banned martial arts entirely, for fear of an uprising. But Ember fought back, unleashing an impressive barrage of Samurai pyrotechnics that drove the invaders away. Even though her village was free, she knew then that there was greater evil out there that needed to be stopped, and so she joined the Skylanders to train others in the art of the Sentinel Battle Class. One day though, Ember plans to return to her homeland and reopen her family’s school, but not until Skylands is safe once and for all.
