“Capcom Live!” rockestral concert
Capcom has recently announced the inaugural “Capcom Live!” rockestral concert, part of a new world tour set to begin in March.
Capcom Live! will begin in China, with shows on March 19 in Shanghai and March 26 in Beijing. Performances will also be held in North America in places like Boston on April 9, with further plans to expand into other territories next year. The goal is to have more than 30 concerts across the globe in various areas, including Japan, Europe, Central and South America, and Asia.
By holding these concerts, Capcom hopes to “achieve greater penetration of its brands in the broadening global game market, including emerging nations”.
Here’s what can be expected of the tour:
“At “CAPCOM LIVE!” attendees can enjoy live performances of game music from more than ten Capcom masterpieces dating from the 1980s up through the present day, all completely synchronized to HD visuals. In addition to the performance of “Video Game Orchestra”—a group that combines rock and orchestral music into “rockestral” concerts and boasts high notoriety in the US—the tour will pursue sophisticated entertainment via staging that weaves together visual effects and specialized lighting. This tour differs from events that have targeted only gamers by brining to life a forward-thinking musical project that can engage music fans and general audiences as well.”
Dragon Ball: Project Fusion
The latest issue of V-Jump features another update on Dragon Ball: Project Fusion for the 3DS.
The main character in the game, along with his partner Pinijji, will travel throughout the game world, which consists of a fusion of various times and places from the series as a whole. A focal point of the plot will revolve around how the world ended up like this. It will also be possible to encounter any character from any point of the series as time and space have been jumbled together.
Players will be able to recruit characters into their party and then fuse them, including ones that would normally be impossible to use thanks to the mysterious armband the characters wear. The main character will also be able to fuse with Pinijji. The magazine coverage provides another look at the Broli/Goku fusion, who could be potentially more powerful than Vegito. Finally, in one of the screenshots, Trunks says you should “gather energy” by recruiting more allies.

Etrian Odyssey V
Announced back in November 2014, Etrian Odyssey V has been one of Atlus’ best kept secrets, since we have barely heard any news about the title since then.
Curiously, Etrian Odyssey V has recently popped up on a new survey from Atlus, where one question lists it as a 3DS title. Given the series’ history on the platform, that choice would definitely make sense and doesn’t really come off as a big surprise. We will have to keep waiting to hear something about the title though…

Martin Sahlin open to porting Unravel to NX
GamingBolt recently interviewed Coldwood Interactive’s Martin Sahlin, the director behind the game Unravel.
When asked if he’d be interested in eventually bringing the game to NX, Sahlin said:
“I wish I knew more about it, but they’re really secretive about it. I actually had a really fun discussion with a person from Nintendo a while back. It was basically ‘I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours’ (laughs). So he wanted me to pitch something for the NX, and then he could tell me more about what it was. But basically, it’s kind of hard to pitch something when you don’t even know what it is! So if you manage to guess it right, we’ll tell you what it is. So, I don’t know. But I am just as curious as everybody else to see what they’ve been making.”
As I see it though, since EA is the publisher behind Unravel, if anything were to happen they’d probably need to be involved as well.
NX Rumours
EA has NX Dev Kits, negotiating partnership with Nintendo
According to Liam Robertson’s tweets at the start of the week, EA is rumored to be in possession of NX development kits for awhile. Robertson also said that Nintendo and EA will meet in March “to hash things out and discuss potential plans”. EA wants to pursue cross promotions such as sports console bundles and “wants Nintendo to help them cultivate an audience for sports fans if they’re going to go on board with NX”.
Later in the week, Nintendo Life published an article with some new information about what Robertson was told by several EA staffers. Here’s a roundup of what was shared:
– Apparently, EA was one of the first publishers to get access to NX development hardware;
– Nintendo is citing EA as a key ally when it comes to making its next console a success;
– The companies will hold multiple meetings in March to further discuss matters;
– Meetings will apparently decide how much support EA, specially the EA Sports arm, will be giving Nintendo in the near future;
– EA wants “a detailed plan” on how Nintendo intends to win over sports fans and build up a large enough “sports” audience on the NX;
– This was apparently one of the key reasons for the publisher to abandon the Wii U;
– EA is asking Nintendo to spend more on advertising during televised sporting events like NFL games, NBA games, MLB games, World Cup matches and the World Series in order to claim this audience, while citing the fact that both Sony and Microsoft spend a large portion of cash during such events, and that EA’s titles are given prominence in promotional campaigns;
– Sources see Nintendo not bundling EA games with consoles as an insult, since both Sony and Microsoft are involved with such bundle deals;
– The company will be asking Nintendo to consider shipping NX consoles with leading EA Sports titles, such as FIFA and Madden;
– During a December meeting between EA and Nintendo executives, an EA exec “criticized Wii U for not having entertainment apps for MLB.TV, NBA, WWE Network, NHL Gamecenter Live, and the NFL”;
– EA believes the fact PS4 has these apps is a key reason for the machine’s success among sports fans, and wants NX to be able to run such apps or offer similar functionality.
Byte 4 Games could be making Mech Super eXtended for NX
Spanish studio Byte 4 Games could be planning a release of “Mech Super eXtended” for the NX along with other platforms. A claim to such effect was recently spotted on the LinkedIn profile of the game’s director, which you can see below:
Although no information about Mech Super eXtended has been shared so far, Byte 4 Games has also been creating the multiplatform arcade shooter Demon’s Crystal for Wii U, which seems to suggest they have an interest in Nintendo’s platforms, making it logical that they would want to release their next game on NX.
