Bravely Default

Square Enix’s “Bravely” series recently celebrated its 4th anniversary in Japan.

The official Twitter account for the series posted the picture seen below with the text: “It’s Bravely’s 4th anniversary! News have been scarce lately. There may be something soon?!”

Of course, there’s no way to know for sure what they mean right now, but an announcement of a “Bravely Third” game for the 3DS is quite possible.

After all, Bravely Second still left some plot threads unresolved, and the makers of the series have expressed the will to make a trilogy on the 3DS if the games were well received overall, which seems to be the case so far.

Capcom has provided new details about Megami Meguri.

These cover important characters, the Seven Pillar Goddesses, as well as the exams that the main character Tsukomo must take on to become a full-fledged goddess.

Our friend at Gematsu provided a look at several details, so you should check their article out, but here are some of the more key details, starting with the Seven Pillar Goddesses:

-Ame no Uzume, the goddess of performance and leader of the goddesses, she is calm and intelligent and is known for dances
-Sotorihime, the goddess of song, who showcases her power as a rock star
-Kukurihime, the goddess of binding, is known for trimming and grooming, taking care of the goddesses’ guardian dogs
-Konohana Sakuyahime, the goddess of flower, acts like an idol, seeking and adoring fans
-Toyota Mahime, the goddess of cooking, suffers from stage fright and is often closed off
-Ishikoridome, the goddess of manufacturing, is a builder who can be very aggressive and strong
-Ame no Sagume, the goddess of fortune telling, she actually has a rational personality that doesn’t see fortune-telling as the answer to everything

To become a goddess, Tsukomo must undergo Divinity Exams, where she will need to exhibit certain abilities: will-power, strength, wisdom, kindness, and beauty.

To complete a Divinity Exam, players must first find offerings at certain station squares, and then go to specific stops to take on these exams.

Completing the exams will progress the story, and unlock new outfits for Tsukomo, based on the seven goddesses.

Monster Hunter Stories

According to Media Create, Monster Hunter Stories sold 141,000 copies in its first week.

As a Monster Hunter spin-off game aimed at a low-age audience (a.k.a. children), it far exceeded Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village DX, which was released in September 2015 and sold 59,000 copies with 57.48% sell-through rate.

Based on Media Create’s findings when it comes to pre-orders, promotions like the demo and the anime broadcast helped boost the number even more, by about 20% to 30%. However, Monster Hunter Stories’ first week sell-through rate was 51.83%, which was less than Airou Village DX.

Store clerks also reported that adults are showing more interest. This might be seen as a lacking start from a retailer perspective.

Finally, you can take a better look at the amiibo figures that released with the game in the unboxing video below.

Corpse Party

XSEED has now confirmed that Corpse Party will arrive to North America on October 25 and digitally to Europe on October 26.

It will cost $50 at retail as part of the limited “Back to School Edition” physical release, and $30 as the digital version.

You can find more information and some screenshots for the game below.

[Platform: Nintendo 3DS; Release Date: October 25, 2016] In the cult hit horror adventure Corpse Party, players take control of a group of Japanese high school students who inadvertently engage in a pagan ritual and find themselves inexplicably transported into a whole other space: an inescapable echo of a long-since demolished school building where a series of gruesome murders once took place. Remastered from the 2011 PSP (PlayStation Portable) system release, the Nintendo 3DS rendition of Corpse Party will feature redrawn, high-resolution character sprites, newly arranged music tracks in binaural 3D audio, and 3D art stills, as well as four new Extra Chapters exclusive to this version that provide insight into lesser-shown characters and plot elements previously left unexplained.

Corpse Party for Nintendo 3DS will be released physically for the first time in English through a limited ‘Back to School Edition’ priced at $49.99, which will include high-quality miniature figurines of characters Naomi Nakashima and Seiko Shinohara, as well as a soundtrack CD containing nearly 80 minutes of music from the game not previously featured on the ‘Songs of the Dead’ compilation, including three tracks exclusive to this Nintendo 3DS version. In addition to the limited ‘Back to School Edition’ physical release, Corpse Party will also see a digital release on the North American Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS for $29.99. The title will also see a digital-only release on the European Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS for €29.99/£24.99, as well as in Australia for $49.95 AUD.

Originally developed as an independent title by Team GrisGris and published by XSEED Games, Corpse Party will release for Nintendo 3DS in North America on October 25, 2016. The European version will launch on October 26, 2016. This title has been rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB, PEGI 18, USK 18, and R 18+ by the ACB.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2

azure-striker-gunvolt-1Azure Striker Gunvolt is finally getting the Japanese Voice Mode on October 20 as part of a 1.3 version update.

It had been announced last year, but took a while to release. In the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, this is already included on the cartridge.

The Japanese Voice Mode is rather substantial, because it restores voices for all of the characters, and the game has been re-localized. A bunch of dialogue has also been added in as Gunvolt moves through stages.

Here’s the official announcement from Inti Creates:

Well Gunvolters, the time has finally come! A year ago, after releasing the Steam version of Azure Striker Gunvolt with the Japanese Voice Mode addition, something that many of you asked for, I personally made it a mission to do whatever we could to make sure that our 3DS Gunvolt players got this feature too.

I’m sorry that it’s taken a year for us to deliver on this promise. But, I’m very happy to announce that a Version 1.3 patch that will add Japanese Voice Mode to the Nintendo 3DS version (digital download) of Azure Striker Gunvolt will release on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on Thursday October 20th!

For those of you who are not familiar with Japanese Voice Mode, this was a mode that we created for Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 that adds in content that was regrettably removed from the initial release of the 3DS version of the game. Not only does this patch restore the voices to each and every one of the characters, but the entire game has been re-localized to better match with the addition of these voices. This mode also restores ample amounts of dialogue that was previously removed from the game that takes place as Gunvolt traverses each stage.

This mode gives a much deeper insight into who the characters are and why they are doing what they do, so I hope that you not just enjoy the Japanese Voice Mode addition, but that you develop a newfound appreciation for these fantastic characters.
