Imageepoch and their affiliate, Smile Online Game, have both declared bankruptcy.
Imageepoch has a debt of 1.1 billion yen (roughly $11 million) and Smile Online Game has a debt of 3 million yen ($30,000) respectively. Imageepoch’s debt is owed to 43 creditors while Smile Online Game’s debt is owed to 5 creditors.
Their annual income has been dropping since 2011, making the company fall into debt due to game development costs and being unable to hit sales targets. Due to this worsening situation, Imageepoch ceased operations back in November 2014.
It remains to be seen if this will have any effect in the release of Stella Glow, specially Atlus’ localization for North America.
Personal Thoughts: This was bound to happen sooner or later, and after this, I think we won’t ever be seeing a localization of Stella Glow in Europe. Let’s wait and see what happens…
